What materials are used for children's water bottle straps?

2024-04-25

Recently, I encountered some friends who were a little confused about choosing kettle straps when purchasing our children's water bottles. They were confused about the materials and had vague concepts about the printing process corresponding to the materials. Today, I will briefly popularize this issue.

The materials currently used for kettles and children's kettle straps are roughly nylon, polyester, polypropylene and SP thread. Depending on the weight of the kettle and the comfort of the user, these materials can be widened and thickened. Therefore, I believe everyone can understand the thickness and width of the material, so I won’t describe it in too much detail. That is, the water cup is large and heavy. The strap you choose should be thicker, and the tension of the cup body of the strap should be larger. The strap for adults should be relatively wider. For the strap for children, you can choose a narrower strap according to the age and shoulder width of the child.

Among these materials, polypropylene has the lowest cost, but its appearance is rough and difficult to print. If you want to make a pattern on a polypropylene strap, try to design it to be made of polypropylene. If the pattern is printed on polypropylene through a printing process such as heat transfer printing, , the pattern has low firmness and is easy to fall off. The tensile strength of polypropylene is similar to that of nylon among these materials, and it has the strongest tensile strength. Therefore, they are more commonly used in outdoor mountaineering bags.

The cost of nylon is slightly higher than that of polypropylene, and other process characteristics are similar to polypropylene, including printing technology and tensile strength, but the elasticity of nylon is greater than that of polypropylene.

The cost of polyester is lower than SP thread, and it is widely used in the purchase of children's water bottle straps. Polyester has a soft and elastic feel, high density, and is easy to print patterns. Under the same tensile force, polyester will appear thinner. Polyester and SP thread are both not washable. Usually the width of polyester straps used for children's water bottles ranges from 2.5CM to 4CM, and the thickness ranges from 1.5MM to 2.5MM.

In layman's terms, SP thread is cotton thread. Due to the material characteristics, the surface of the strap made of SP thread will have lint, so in this case, it is not suitable for silk screen printing process, and can only be used for heat transfer printing or hot stamping process. Straps made of SP wire have a high-end texture, but are expensive, difficult to wash, and not very durable. The longer the straps are used, the more serious the wear will become.
